Our Rooms
Our rooms are calm, cosy spaces designed to feel like a home from home. Set within the Bucklebury Farm environment, children enjoy natural, open spaces that encourage curiosity and exploration, with free-flow access to outdoor learning throughout the day.
Sika Room
6 months – approx. 2–2.5 years
A gentle, nurturing start
Sika is our youngest room—a warm, calm space where babies and young toddlers begin their nursery journey feeling safe, secure, and cared for.
We understand that every child develops differently, so we follow each child’s individual pace. Children remain in Sika until they are emotionally and developmentally ready to move on, usually after their second birthday.
Daily life in sika
Our days are shaped by responsive care, familiar routines, and opportunities for exploration. Children enjoy free-flow access to a secure outdoor decking area, allowing them to move between indoor and outdoor play throughout the day as well as opportunity to explore the natural garden and wider farm site.
A Unique Farm Experience
Even our youngest children benefit from our farm setting. They regularly:
- Meet and observe animals
- Take part in gentle experiences such as egg collecting
- Enjoy nature walks
- Use soft play equipment to build confidence and coordination
Sika is a place where strong bonds are formed and children are given the very best start.
Fallow Room
2 – 5 years
Growing confidence, independence, and school readiness
Fallow is our preschool room, where children flourish as confident, capable, and curious learners.
Children typically join Fallow from around two years old, once they are developmentally ready, and remain with us until they transition to school.
Daily life in Fallow
Life in Fallow is active, social, and engaging. We place a strong focus on communication, friendships, and emotional development. Fallow have a large open homely environment with direct free flow to a covered decking area. They also have a natural garden to take care of and explore and access to the wider Bucklebury site.
Learning through the farm
Our farm environment plays a central role in everyday learning. Children regularly:
- Help care for animals and collect eggs
- Take part in gardening, planting, and harvesting
- Learn where food comes from
- Explore nature, seasons, and life cycles
These real-life experiences help children develop a deep understanding of the world around them.
Preparing for the Next Step
We support children to develop
- Confidence and self-belief
- Strong communication skills
- Independence in self-care
- Early literacy and numeracy
- Curiosity and problem-solving skills
Fallow is where children truly flourish.
